How to apply

About ten minutes, start to finish.

  1. Size first. Lay each nail against the finger it is meant for before you glue anything. Pick the one that reaches sidewall to sidewall without pressing into the skin.
  2. Prep the nail. Push the cuticle back with the stick, buff lightly, wipe with alcohol so the surface is dry and oil free.
  3. Glue. A thin layer on your nail and a dot inside the press-on. Too much glue is what causes lifting at the edges.
  4. Press and hold. Set the nail against the cuticle line at an angle, roll it down flat, hold for 15 to 20 seconds.
  5. Leave it alone. No water or washing up for the first hour.

Going out for one night instead? Use the adhesive tabs. They come off cleanly and the set can be reused.

Sizing and fit

Each box holds 24 nails in 12 widths, two of every size.

How to measure. Hold each nail over the matching finger. The right size touches both sidewalls without overlapping the skin. Your two hands are rarely identical, so size each finger on its own rather than assuming symmetry.

Between two sizes? Take the larger one and file the sides down. A nail that is slightly too big can be adjusted. One that is too small leaves the edges of your natural nail exposed and will catch and lift.

Length. Short sits at or just past the fingertip. Medium adds a few millimetres. Long is a clear extension. All three can be filed shorter, so if you are unsure, size up and cut back.

      Warm water and a little oil or soap for 10 to 15 minutes. The glue softens and the edge lifts on its own.

      If it resists, soak again. Force is what thins the nail plate and causes weeks of ridges.
